What is Teletherapy?
Teletherapy visits utilize video and phone conferencing to allow your child to be seen without
having to leave your home. These can be a great option so that you do not have to miss
therapy.
How can I schedule a Teletherapy visit?
To schedule a Teletherapy visit, you can simply call the office at (470)589-1742 and request a
Teletherapy appointment.
What equipment do I need to connect with the therapist?
To connect with the therapist, you will need a phone, tablet or computer with video,
microphone and speaker. In addition, you will need to download and install the Zoom app on
to your device. To ensure readiness for your Teletherapy appointment, please test your
connection by going to: https://zoom.us/test.
Audio
After your Test Meeting opens, a pop-up window will appear with choices for your audio
connection. If you have speakers and a microphone on your computer, you may
choose Join by Computer. Otherwise, choose Join by Phone. Follow the on-screen
instructions to test.
Video
You will know that your connection is successful once you can see yourself in the
window. (This is just a test meeting, so no one else will join you!) If your video did not
start automatically, find the Zoom toolbar and click the camera icon to make sure the
correct camera is selected.
How do I connect to the Zoom meeting with the therapist?
To connect to your actual Zoom meeting, the office will email or text you a Zoom link. You will
need to click on the Zoom link to access the meeting.
How soon before my appointment should I log into Zoom?
To be ready for your appointment, you will need to join Zoom about 10 minutes before your
scheduled appointment. If the therapist has not already joined the meeting, please wait
patiently as the meeting will begin shortly.
What do I do once my Zoom meeting is finished?
Once your Zoom visit is complete, click the Leave Meeting in the lower right corner to leave the
meeting.
Is there anything else I can do to ensure a successful Teletherapy visit?
Install and test your Zoom connection at least 24 hours in advance to ensure that you're ready
for your visit. If you encounter any issues installing the Zoom app, you will have plenty of time
to get any necessary help that you may need.
Also, choose a well-lit, quiet location so that we will be able to see you and communicate most
effectively.
Will I be billed for the Teletherapy appointment?
Yes. You will be billed the same as any regular office visit according to the rules and regulations
set up by the state of Georgia and by the insurance companies.
